Questions people ask first.

What a custom AI system actually costs, how long it takes, what we need from you, and what we publish as open source.

General

What a custom AI system is and how it differs from a generic chatbot or a full-time hire.

What is a custom AI system?

An agent built for your business that reads your own data and does a real task: posts a weekly marketing verdict to Telegram, answers customers on your site, connects your booking system to payments. It is hired like an engineer, not bought like a SaaS subscription.

How is this different from a SaaS chatbot?

A SaaS chatbot is a generic tool you configure yourself and pay for every month whether it fits your business or not. We build the system around your specific data, tools and workflow, then we run it for you or hand it over with documentation.

How is this different from hiring a full-time engineer?

A full-time hire takes months to recruit and costs a full salary before any work ships. A first build starts within a week of the call and is a fixed price. Some clients later hire in-house and we hand off, which is a normal outcome, not a loss.

Will this replace our staff?

It is built not to. A marketing reporting agent gives the marketer an analyst with every number instead of pulling reports by hand. A booking agent gives the front desk a night shift. The system sits under your team, and the people keep the keys.

Cost & timeline

What a build costs, how long it takes, and what we need from you to start.

What does it cost?

A build is counted in hours at $120 to $250 an hour by role and signed as a fixed price before any work begins: sites from $3,000, apps from $30,000, an AI front desk $3,000 to set up. The marketing retainer is $2,300 a month; the AI office is $4,500 a month, with a founding setup of $4,500 through December 2026, then $12,000. All three lines.

How long does a build take?

Four to six weeks for a full system, less for a site on its own, after a 15-minute call and a free one-page plan delivered within 48 hours. Larger integrations or multiple systems take longer, and that is stated in the plan up front, not discovered halfway through.

What do we need to have ready?

One person on your side who can make the call, and access to the tools the system will read or act on: your analytics, booking software, email or calendar. We connect through each vendor's own OAuth, never by asking for passwords.

Are there setup fees on top of the build price?

No. The fixed price from the one-page plan covers the build. There is no separate onboarding fee stacked on top, and no surprise invoice once work is underway. For the AI front desk and the AI Office, the published setup fee is that build price.

Do you take smaller, one-off project work?

The first build itself is the project format: one system, fixed scope, fixed price, four to six weeks. If you need something narrower, like a single integration or an audit, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.

Working with us

Rituals, our stack, what happens after the build, and the retainer.

How do clients typically work with you?

A weekly sync, usually 30 minutes, and async updates over Slack or Telegram. For an ongoing system, a monthly written report with numbers and what they mean, not a raw dashboard. We work inside your existing rituals rather than imposing new ones.

If our developer asks: what is the stack?

Python (FastAPI, aiogram), TypeScript (Next.js, React), Postgres, Redis, Docker. AI: Claude and OpenAI models, self-hosted models via llama.cpp when needed. Hosting: Vercel, AWS, DigitalOcean. We pick well-supported tooling, not the newest thing.

What happens after the build?

Three options, and none of them are locked in: we run the system for you monthly, your team takes it over with our documentation, or we move to a retainer. Source code sits in your repository and data sits in your accounts from day one either way.

Do you offer a retainer?

Yes, as a way to keep a system improving after the first build: new features, monitoring, changes as the business changes. The marketing retainer is $2,300 a month: SEO with articles, GEO, site support, Revenue Guard monitoring and a marketing chat in Telegram.

How big is the team?

Six people. The team page has the full roster. You work with the founder and one or two engineers directly, not a rotating account team.

Privacy & data

Which models we use, where your data lives, and how we handle credentials.

Which AI models do you use?

Claude and OpenAI models for most work, local models when data cannot leave your premises. We also publish SHAITS, a trust standard for self-hosted AI; our own self-audit against it is next.

Where does our data live?

Your choice. Self-hosted setups keep data on your own infrastructure, your VPS, your AWS, your DigitalOcean. Managed setups run on Simple4u-managed infrastructure with per-client isolation. Either way, no shared infrastructure across clients.

Do you sign a data agreement?

A standard Data Processing Agreement, signed with every client. It covers data residency, access controls, incident response, the sub-processor list, and deletion on request. Available before you sign if you want legal review first. See /dpa for the text.

Can you handle health information (HIPAA)?

Not yet: we do not sign Business Associate Agreements today. Until we do, what we build for you must not hold client health information; your public pages, policies and checklists are enough to start. Ask us before you share anything sensitive.

How do you keep our logins and data safe?

Secrets sit in vaulted environment variables, never in code and never in chat logs. OAuth2 for tool integrations whenever a vendor supports it, TLS for everything in transit. We publish the SHAITS standard (see /standard); our own self-audit against it is next.

Open source

SAE4U Agent, sae4u-memory, and what's free to self-host.

What is SAE4U Agent?

SAE4U Agent is the multi-tenant AI agent platform we built as a SaaS product and open-sourced under Apache 2 on GitHub (Simple4uhq/sae4u-agent) when we stopped selling it in May 2026: a control plane plus a per-tenant runtime. The systems we build for clients today are made for each client and don't run on it.

Why open-source the core platform?

Code people can read is more convincing than a claim on a landing page. When we stopped selling it as SaaS, publishing it was better than shelving it.

Can we self-host without engaging Simple4u?

Yes. The repo is fully usable on its own, with setup docs in the README, and we won't bill you for using it. If you later want help with custom integrations or ongoing operation, that's when we engage.

Fit

Who a first build is for, and the AI Office product.

Who's a good fit for a first build?

Businesses with revenue already coming in, a process losing hours every week, and an owner or manager who can make the call: a spa, a charter business, a preschool, a service company with several locations. Pre-revenue startups without a budget for a first build, and large enterprises that buy through a formal tender, are usually not a fit.

What is the AI Office?

Our third line, with its own site at simple4u.ai: a sales office under your team: outreach to the buyers who fit, a marketing analyst, a content writer, a project manager and the AI front desk. $4,500 a month, with a founding setup of $4,500 through December 2026, then $12,000.

What if our needs change after the first build?

That is normal, and it is what the retainer is for. If a new integration or a second system comes up later, it is a new scoped conversation, not a surprise invoice on an existing one.

Can't find your answer?

15 minutes with the founder is faster than email tag. We'll map what runs your business today, where the hours go, and tell you honestly whether a first build fits.
